Using the Manage Dates Tool

The Manage Dates tool allows instructors to edit the due dates and availability dates of course content more easily, like announcements, assignments, and discussions. You can edit multiple content items with "Bulk Edit Dates."

 

Bulk Edit Dates

1. In your course, click Course Admin

2. Under Site Resources, click on Manage Dates

          

 

3. Select the items you wish to edit.

4. Click Bulk Edit Dates

          

 

5. A new window will pop up here you can update the due dates for all of the items you have selected. 

6. Once you have the settings configured, click Save.

 

Bulk Offset Dates

Offsetting dates can allow you to move due dates, start dates, end dates, and other dates/times forward or backward by a specified number of days/hours.

 

1. In your course, click Course Admin

2. Under Site Resources, click on Manage Dates

3. Select the items you wish to edit.

4. Click Bulk Offset Dates

          

 

 

5. A new window will pop up. Here, you can enter what you want to offset and how you would like the offset calculated.

          

 

6. Once you have this configured to your liking, click Save.

 

Altering Dates for a Single Item from the Manage Dates Tool

1. In your course, click Course Admin

2. Under Site Resources, click on Manage Dates

3. Scroll down to the item you want to update. 

4. Click the column in the row of the item that you want to edit.

                   

 

5. In the pop-up window, edit the date and click Save

          

 

6. See that the due date has been updated

           

 

 

Sorting Items by Type in the Manage Dates Tool

1. Open the Manage Dates tool

2. Under the Filter by Tool section, "Specific Tools", then select the item type that you would like to sort by.

3. Click Apply Filter
