Setting up Extra Credit

1. Create the activity you wish to become the bonus assignment.

2. When creating the item, add the points you wish.

3. Once the assignment has been set up and linked to the gradebook, open the gradebook. 

4. Navigate to the grade column for the item and click the column to open additional settings.

5. Scroll down to the Bonus option and select it. 

          

6. Click Save and Close.

 

Note: Once an item has been updated as a bonus item it will appear in the gradebook with a star next to it. 

          

 

After the item has been created and marked as a bonus item. You will need to adjust the grade category to exceed the points in the category. 

 

Begin by clicking on the "Grades" tab in the blue Navbar, then click on "Manage Grades" at the top left of the screen. Scroll down to the category you'd like to modify. Click on the caret next to it and click "Edit"

     

 

Scroll down to the "Can Exceed" box and click it, then scroll all the way down and click "Save and Close."
