Fixing a Wrong Answer Key in D2L (Regrade All Attempts)
print icon

Scenario: A question was accidentally keyed with the wrong correct answer (e.g., marked B but should be C).
You’ve fixed the key — now you want to remove points from students who chose B and give credit to those who chose C automatically.

  1. Go to Quizzes → [quiz name] → Grade

  2. Click the Questions tab at the top

  3. Select Update All Attempts

  4. Find and click the question you need to fix

  5. Under Evaluate Responses, you’ll see each answer choice (A, B, C, etc.)

  6. Set the correct option (C) to full marks (e.g., 1 point)
Set the wrong option (B) to 0 points

  7. Scroll down → click Save → Yes to confirm applying changes to all attempts

  8. Verify totals → if the quiz is linked to the gradebook, grades will update automatically (or click Publish/Update Grades to push updates)
