NOTE: students do not have access to the AI Writing Report - only the Similarity Report. It gives you how much submission language (8+ words in a row) matches repository source language (internet, scholarly publications, paper repository).

NOTE: Only assignments can be checked for similarity.

Start by clicking on "Tools" then "Assignments." Click on the blue "New Assignment" button at the top left of the page. Give the assignment a title, instructions, and make it visible:

Next, click on the "Submission & Completion" settings on the right side of the page and make sure the assignment submission type is "File submission," the allowable file extension is "compatible with Turnitin," and the Submissions are set to "All submissions are kept."

Next, click on the "Evaluation & Feedback" settings at the bottom right of the page, then click "Manage Turnitin":

Check the box next to "Enable Similarity Report for this folder" then under Display check "Allow learners to see similarity scores in their submission folder." Finally, click on "More Options."

Under Submit papers to click the dropdown and then click "Do not store the submitted papers." Next, click on the "generate reports" dropdown and select the appropriate option.

Finally, click on the blue "Submit" button at the bottom of the page, then the blue "Save" button, then the blue "Save and Close" button on the new assignment. Students can now find the assignment by going to "Tools" and then "Assignments."
